Old architecture
Needed updated. Ceiling tile in the hallway fell overnight and was still there in the morning, Toilet made a crazy sound when flushing. Overall the hotel needed an update and I felt was overpriced for the quality and location

Fantastic location for tourists who want to walk and see the sights of Chicago. Staff members were friendly.
It is an old historic hotel that needs a bit of updating but it is ok.

front desk was rude...finally got a room on 3rd try, but NOT with the 2 beds I ordered on here. be careful when you order a room...if you put down 2 guests, you will get a single bed. what if you were with your brother????

Manager was quick to address our concerns
Cleanliness of room. Very outdated.

Very friendly staff, nice lobby area, loved the beds-slept the best I have at a hotel in years. Old hotel meant well insulated walls-nice quiet room. Clean rooms, looks like the rooms have been remodeled recently with tile, carpet,..
Furniture in the rooms was very cheap & not well designed. The rooms did not match the beautiful lobby area in style or class. Needed my Starbucks coffee-wish they served it in the lobby or cafe like Marriott does.

The staff was courteous and accommodating. The lake view was a nice plus.
The AC unit in the room was too old, too loud, and didnt keep the room warm enough. The curtains did not fit properly.

Convenient Location for Food, sites, metro, business district.
Beds are so firm that it felt like sleeping on the floor. Woke up and had back spasms. Finally folded up the comforter into four layers and slept on that the night night. Tolerable at best. Please consider adding at least a foam pad for guests.

Location about the only good thing
-No food service after 10pm -Rooms were very warm, no way to cool down (air conditioning) -creepy hotel -Bed was hard, not very comfortable

Staff was very friendly the location was great. The room was very clean.
It was the smallest hotel room I have ever been in. If we were staying more than one night I would have been very closterphobic. The tv was fuzzy on all channels.

The location and the cleanliness is excellent. I also enjoy the extreme quietness. Normally the staff is excellent, just had a problem with the front desk for the first time in 5 years.
Refused to allow me to check in for almost a half-hour using the same debit card(Netspend) I have been using there for 5 years. Turned me away at 12:30am with nowhere to go until I demanded a manager even though my room was pre-paid. Frustrating/tired.
