Comfortable bed, hot water, spacious room.
Mandatory $35 per night "Urban Experience" fee, poor fitness room, antiquated electric and plumbing fixtures.

I honestly didn't like anything about the hotel. It was awe full.
Rude customer service, bathroom door didn't lock, shower had weak pressure, the heat smelled like the room was on fire, the view would've been better if we didn't have a window. When you step out of the hotel there are a TON of homeless and heroin

Terrible location. No Parking. 0, Zero star.

The location and staff met our needs perfectly for going to three different plays nearby walking distance, since the Orpheum is right across the street.
They should not charge almost $60 per night to park a car. That is just gouging. We simply flew in to Oakland where you can take BART or Uber or Lyft roundtrip for less than parking your car one night at The Whitcomb. The resort fee of $35 is ridiculous.

The location
Very old and sticky

Nothing. What I liked the best was leaving the hotel
Shower didn't work. Room was 10×9 with 2 beds, night stand, table, table w/ TV. There was NO room! Location was terrible. You walked outside and 20 homeless people ask you for money or cigarettes. It smelled like people have died in the hotel. OVERPRI

Waived resort fee, because I originally reserved as a single queen room, but one bed was not available. Gave us two double beds with fee waived.
Old. The hallway was smelly.

Location was probably the best thing about it
Not worth the price in my opinion

I did not like the fact that the hotel charged me even though I already had a prepaid reservation. I also did not like the fact that the front desk gave a complete stranger a key to my room.
Michael, 2019-03-16
The front desk staff was very rude, I was not treated like a guest even though the staff saw me check in with my boyfriend. My key was taken away because I got locked out for trying to get back into my room. Awful service, wont stay here again.

It was clean and staff was helpful.
Wifi barely worked. The only parking they have is valet parking and thats around $50 per night.

The location in the city.
I think it's absolutely unacceptable that this was given to me as a 3.5 star hotel. Honestly a 2 star hotel would have been more pleasant. Room was dirty, faucet leaked, tub faucet shower lever was broken.

The facilities in my accessible room were great
It was old and not very clean. There was no airport shuttle despite it being advertised. The gym was a dump, with five pieces of equipment, all of which were broken. There was no refrigerator in the room, and to rent one it would've been an additional $

casual basic old fashioned needs upgrades but I would say it is comparable to the area
Didn't utilize much so honestly couldn't say there is however a lot of people that hang around the immediate area outside which is uncomfortable

The location was great and it was very convenient with starbucks and restaurant inside.
The kingsize bed was hard as a board. Me and my husband did not get one good night sleep due to the mattress. Very uncomfortable.
